Complete classes online, on Saturdays at our Vandenberg Air Force Base Center or at the college’s Lompoc Valley Center less than seven miles from the base.
The college schedules classes based on a two-year completion plan that includes registering for online classes and six-week courses offered at the VAFB Center. There are also completion plans for people only interested in taking online classes.
Summer classes begin the week of June 10.
Fall classes begin the week of August 19.
Open registration for summer and fall began May 6 and continues until the first day of class.
Allan Hancock College has been offering classes at Vandenberg Air Force Base since 1952 when the base was called Camp Cook. The center, which is open to the general public, consists of three classrooms and one administrative office. The college’s Vandenberg AFB Center is part of the Base Education Center shared with the U.S. Air Force Education Office and private four-year universities.
Vandenberg AFB Access
If you are attending classes at the Vandenberg AFB Center and do not normally have access to the base, you are required to provide proof of registration in an Allan Hancock College class held at Vandenberg AFB (registration document/receipt), a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance when applying for a gate pass at the main gate visitor's facility. The visitor's facility is open seven days a week, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Allow approximately 60 minutes for issuance of a gate pass. Passes will be issued no earlier than the morning of the day the class begins.
Students must carry their personal passes with them at all times while on base. Passes may be used only for the purpose of class attendance; students who drop Vandenberg AFB classes must relinquish their gate pass to AHC staff at the time the class is dropped.
