What can I expect by joining this program?
The College Achievement Now program offers a multitude of services. You will receive a strong support system, along with priority registration, academic counseling, transfer assistance, career advising, mentoring, extra tutoring hours, campus visits to universities and other field trips, free printing, laptop and calculator loans, book lending library, and more!
I want to apply to CAN. What do I do?
You can submit the Online TRIO/CAN Student Information or you may print the application from this website by clicking on the left 'how to apply' tab or by visiting the CAN Center in A-211. Complete the application and return it to the CAN Center.
I turned in my application. How do I find out about my application status?
Check your myHancock email account for an update on your application status. Or, you may call the CAN Center at 922.6966 x 3434.
I was “waitlisted.” What does that mean?
If you are waitlisted, this means that your application will be held for up to a year and anytime during that year you may be invited to participate. After a year has passed, you must re-apply.
Will CAN help me pay for school?
CAN does NOT provide financial assistance to all CAN students. However, some assistance may be offered through the CAN grant for eligible participants. Visit the CAN Center for more details.
Is the CAN Club the same as the CAN program?
No. The CAN Club is separate from the CAN program. Any student at Hancock can join the CAN Club. The CAN club is an academic and social support network for students pursuing a degree or transferring to university. However, only eligible students who successfully complete the application process are admitted to the CAN program.
