Board of State and Community Corrections, Adult Reentry Grant, Warm Hand-off Reentry Services

The Beyond Barriers: Transitions to Life, College and a Career (Beyond Barriers) program utilizes a collaborative and integrated approach to addressing recidivism.  It guides participants through evidence-based behavioral change interactions designed to revitalize self-esteem: elicit short-term and long-term goal setting; foster social and economic independence; and, cultivate a sense of fulfillment.

State of California, Governor’s Office of Planning and Research:  California Education Learning Lab

In partnership with California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo for a California Education Learning Lab grant,“The Mechanics of Inclusion and Inclusivity in Mechanics” establishes an interdisciplinary partnership across the California Community College, the California State University, and the University of California systems. This project seeks to eliminate equity and performance gaps in mechanics courses.

U. S. Department of Education: CCAMPIS

Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) supports the participation of low-income parents in higher education system by providing of campus-based child-care services.

California Community College Chancellor’s Office: Currently and Formerly Incarcerated Reentry Student Grant

Funding supports currently and formerly incarcerated reentry students into the community college system. The two and a half year project will be used to increase the number of previously incarcerated and currently incarcerated students attending Allan Hancock College as a strategy to break the cycle of recidivism.

 

United States Department of Agriculture: Food Safety Outreach Competitive Grants Program

In partnership with California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, “Supporting Underserved California Leafy-green Producers’ FSMA Compliance, through Interdisciplinary Food Safety, Communication and Marketing Training.”  The funds will be used for food safety training and education for small and mid-sized producers and processors affected by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). 

 

State of California Department of Resources - Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle):  Food Waste Prevention and Rescue Grant Program

In collaboration with the Community Environmental Council, AHC expands the Santa Barbara County Food Rescue Program.  The project purchases equipment for Santa Barbara City College, UC Santa Barbara, and Allan Hancock College to allow receipt and safe storage of prepared foods.  Rescued foods will be redistributed to feed food insecure students.

California Community College Chancellor’s Office: Partnership Resource Team Seed Grant

This funding will help to expedite implementation of the Innovation and Effectiveness Plan.  The goal of this initiative is to help advance California Community Colleges’ institutional effectiveness. An important focus of the initiative is to draw on the exceptional expertise and innovation from within the system in advancing best practices and avoiding potential pitfalls.

The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District: Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Installed four electric vehicle-charging stations (8 charging ports) for student, faculty, staff, administration and public use and a sustainable income for upkeep and maintenance of the charging stations.

 

California Community College Chancellor’s Office:  Nursing Enrollment Growth/Assessment

Funding addresses student attrition and retention and increases the growth and capacity of California Community College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) programs.
