Steps to Register for Classes

Use the following steps as a guide to get started.  Priority registration is granted for students who complete steps 1, 3, 4, & 5.  Students who do not complete the necessary steps for priority registration will be able to enroll during open registration, after priority registration is over. 

You can register for classes up to the first day of class.

Admission Application: October 1, 2019

Priority Registration begins: May 4, 2020
Classes begin: June 8, 2020

FALL 2020

Admission Application: October 1, 2019
Online Class Search: April 13, 2020
Priority Registration begins: May 4, 2020
Classes begin: August 17, 2020
Term 2 classes begin: October 12, 2020

WINTER 2021

Admission Application: October 1, 2020
Online Class Search: October 26, 2020
Priority Registration begins: November 2, 2020
Classes begin: December 14, 2020

SPRING 2021

Admission Application: October 1, 2020
Online Class Search: October 26, 2020
Priority Registration begins: November 2, 2020
Classes begin: January 19, 2021
Term 4 classes begin: March 22, 2021

Complete the Online Admission Application

By clicking on the "Apply for Admission" link below, you will be directed to the California Community College Online Application.  It is important that you complete BOTH steps:

Step 1: Create a CCCApply account and receive a CCCID, and
Step 2: Complete the application for admission for Allan Hancock College.

After completing the application for admission, an email will be sent to the address provided on your application which will include your AHC myHancock log-in information and your student identification number, also known as an H number.

NOTE: Have you attended another college/university?  Students who have attended other accredited colleges/universities are required to submit all official transcripts to the Admissions and Records Office for an evaluation.  This also includes students that have Advanced Placement (AP), IB, CLEP, and military credit

Complete the Online Orientation

All new students are required to complete the online orientation. You will learn about student support services, college success tips, and other important "need to know" information.

You can access the online orientation through your myHancock portal.

Check your English and Math Placement

Your English and math skills will be assessed based off of your high school and/or official college transcripts as reported to the college via CCCApply or through previous courses taken at an accredited institution. 

You may view your placement by logging onto your myHancock portal and clicking "English and Math Placement" under the "Registration" tab.

Complete a First Semester Plan

All new students are required to create a 1st semester plan with a counselor.  A counselor will assist you in understanding your English and math placement, identify your academic goal, and help you develop a first semester plan using Degree Works.  Call the Counseling Department for drop-in availability.

Register and Pay for Classes

Log onto your myHancock portal and verify your registration date under "Registration Status" (available approximately one month before registration opens).

CCPG recipients are still responsible for additional fees not waived by CCPG. If you do not pay your fees by the deadline, you will be dropped from your classes.

Complete a Student Education Plan (SEP)

An SEP is a comprehensive semester-by-semester plan created in DegreeWorks listing all courses you will need to complete in order to reach your educational goal.  It is recommended to complete your SEP within your first semester at Hancock.
