Linking to PDFs

Creating a New Link to a PDF

  1. Log into the editing screen on your page
  2. Type and then highlight the text that you would like to link to the PDF
  3. Right click on the highlighted text, and then click on the Insert/edit Link. You can also click on the Insert/Edit Link tool (chain) while the text is highlighted
  4. Click the browse button (folder with magnifying glass) next to the URL space
  5. Navigate to the Documents folder. This is where all PDFs will live in your file/site
  6. Click Upload in the right top corner of the window.
  7. Make sure the overwrite existing box is checked, click on Add+ or drag the PDF document(s) into the window
  8. Click Start Upload
  9. Once the PDFs have uploaded they will now be in the folder where you can select them
  10. Click Insert
  11. In the Insert Link window make sure that Target is set to New Window
  12. Save the page by clicking on the disk icon (note: you will not see the PDF actively show until the page has been published)
  13. Submit the page typing what changes you made in the subject line
  14. Once the page has been published, check to make sure the correct PDF is showing

Updating Links

  1. Click anywhere within the existing link. No need to highlight the entire text
  2. Right click and then click on the Insert/edit Link. You can also click on the Insert/Edit Link tool (chain) while the text is highlighted
  3. Click the browse button (folder with magnifying glass) next to the URL space
  4. Navigate to the Documents folder. This is where all PDFs will live in your file/site
  5. Click Upload in the right top corner of the window.
  6. Make sure the overwrite existing box is checked, click on Add+ or drag the PDF document(s) into the window. If you save the document with the same exact name the url for that link will remain the same.
  7. Click Start Upload
  8. The PDF you uploaded should be highlighted
  9. Click Insert
  10. In the Insert Link window make sure that Target is set to New Window
  11. Save the page by clicking on the disk icon (note: you will not see the PDF actively show until the page has been published)
  12. Submit the page typing what changes you made in the subject line
  13. Once the page has been published, check to make sure the correct PDF is showing
