In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Learning Assistance Program has transitioned to serving students in a combination
of in-person and remote environments.
LAP services are now available to serve you through various methods. We are able
to assist you in-person, via telephone, email, online chat, and/or video-conferencing.
Students wishing to "see" their Counselor through video-conferencing are able to do
so by using Cranium Café or Zoom. Both are able to be accessed via a smart phone
or a computer. We encourage you to find a method that fits your needs.
We are committed to continue to offer excellent services while also protecting the
health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community. We thank you and

For scheduled appointments, Counselors are available via telephone and/or video-conferencing.
If you wish to "see" your Counselor via video-conferencing, you are able to do so
using Cranium Café. At the time of your appointment, you are required to be logged
into your myHancock portal and enter Cranium Café. An email with detailed information
will be sent to you once an appointment has been scheduled. You will need to have
a webcam and internet connection. Cranium Café is only compatible with Chrome.

If you are already approved for testing accommodations, you do not need to do anything
else to continue receiving those accommodations, even in an online classroom. You
may want to send an email reminder to your instructor that you have been approved
for accommodations, so they can contact our office for assistance if needed.

If you are currently using note taking as an accommodation, you can continue to do
so in any online classes that has live lecture or pre-recorded lecture. The LAP office
will be working with note takers to establish how notes will be transferred to students.

Freedom Scientific has offered FREE license use for ZoomText, JAWS (used by students
who are visually impaired), and Fusion (a screen reader) for anyone through June 30,
