Allan Hancock College is inviting students preparing to register for summer and fall classes to learn more about important support services during a series of virtual “Student Services Showcase” workshops.

The workshops will help students learn how to access a variety of services from various Hancock departments including Financial Aid, Tutoring, EOPS/CARE, Foster Youth, the Veterans Success Center, the University Transfer Center, Career Services, CAN-TRIO, CalSOAP, Counseling, Dream Center, Student Life and Activities.
Hancock will continue to offer classes remotely this summer, and these critical student services will also continue to be offered virtually to ensure students remain connected to the resources they need to be successful.
“We want our students to feel engaged and understand that we are here to help them even though they cannot be physically on-campus,” said Hancock Dean of Student Services Yvonne Teniente-Cuello. “We know that students who get connected to these services early tend to be more successful during their tenure at AHC. We want them to know about all of the services, events, staff and activities that will help them along their journey as a student.”
Priority registration for summer and fall classes at Hancock is ongoing, and general registration for summer and fall begins May 9. Summer classes start June 15, and fall classes start Aug. 17.
Hancock continues to monitor the evolving COVID-19 outbreak situation and will provide further information and updates regarding the fall 2020 term as more information becomes available.

Your future is promising
The Hancock Promise provides local high school graduates with a year of free tuition at Allan Hancock College! The Promise is open to all students who enroll at Hancock immediately after graduating from a high school located in the Allan Hancock Joint Community College District. Students who are home-schooled or completed their GED through a local adult education program within the district (GED and HiSET graduates) are also eligible.
Benefits for students include:
- More than $1,200 in tuition and fees during first year at Allan Hancock College
- Early registration for classes
- Personalized counseling for academic success
- Free tutoring and other academic support services.
Steps to Become a Promise Student
*In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, we changed the delivery to our Promise Steps.
- A copy of your current high school transcript.
Placement for math and English is based on high school GPA.
- Your Social Security Number or permanent resident card.
If you don't have either, leave this section of the application blank.
- An email address.
If your parents don't have an email address, they can sign up at yahoo.com or gmail.com.
Check your email for your student ID number (H#) and your username. Be sure to keep
it in a safe place. This number will be used throughout your time at Hancock.

To complete information on these applications you will need:
- 2018 tax return.
- The Allan Hancock College school code which is 001111
- Know your Social Security Number, if you have one.
- Parents'/legal guardians' birthday.
- Student's personal email address.
- Parents'/legal guardians' email address
You are required to complete the Online Orientation. The orientation will provide you with important information concerning student support services, certificate/degree programs, and other "Need to Know" information. To access the Online Orientation, log onto your myHancock portal, and click on "Online Orientation".
To create first semester plan, you will be contacted by a Hancock Outreach Specialist to schedule a counseling phone appointment.
Prior to your phone appointment, we encourage you to review the Educational Planning Presentation.
Promise Priority Registration starts May 6, 2020 at 8 a.m.
To register for summer and fall classes, log onto your myHancock portal.
- When you register, refer to your first semester plan which can be found in DegreeWorks in your "Plans" tab.
- Check your financial aid status for outstanding documentation requirements, disbursement dates, Satisfactory Academic Progress and other important information about your financial aid file.
- You must register for at least 12 units each semester, both fall and spring.
- You must complete one English and one math class during the first year if required by the program of study
