Do you think you're getting close to TRANSFERRING to a University?

If so, follow these important steps to ensure you are not missing any deadlines or information.

Step 1:  Meet with a counselor ASAP to have a transfer evaluation completed. Schedule an appointment with a UTC counselor*

Step 2:  Review and print the One Year to Go Transfer Checklist

Step 3:** During the semester in which you are ready to apply, meet with a counselor to complete a final transfer evaluation and complete the University Admissions Application Worksheet.

Step 4:  Attend a University Application workshop.  Follow the previous link for upcoming California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) application workshops.  Contact the UTC if you have questions.  If possible, create an account prior to attending an application workshop.  See links below:

CSU Application:  www.calstate.edu/apply
UC Application:   www.universityofcalifornia.edu

Step 5:  Have your university application reviewed by a counselor during an Application Review Session.  Call the UTC at 922.6966 ext. 3363 (or click on link below) to schedule an application review appointment.  Review sessions are not conducted on drop-in times.  You are required to bring your completed University Admissions Application Worksheet with you to your application review (see step 3).  DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP and Do Not Delay!

Step 6:  Submit your university application to your CSU/UC campuses no later than November 30 for fall admissions. See spring and winter deadlines if you are not applying for fall admissions.

Step 7:   Check your email often after submission for updates and information from each university you have applied to.  Continue to review your One Year to go Transfer Checklist for important deadlines after your application is submitted.

If you are applying to out of state and/or private colleges, visit individual university websites for dates and deadlines for transfer admissions.

*Make sure you have ALL external transcripts and AP/IB scores on file before scheduling an appointment.

**This step should take place early in the fall semester (August-September) during which you are applying (or during summer for spring transfers).

Step 8:  Allan Hancock College acknowledges those student who have successfully transferred to a four-year institution by awarding them a Transfer Recognition Award and publishing their name in the commencement program.
